Complex Case Capacity Building

We are thrilled and extremely grateful to have received the funds to support our complex case capacity-building pilot project. At Restorative Justice Victoria, we address the harms resulting from crime and violence by working with the parties involved to deal with the aftermath of the offence and its implications for the future.

Over the past few years, the number of complex cases referred to our organization has dramatically increased, and the resources and expertise required has also increased. Complex cases can involve a serious type of offence, complex dynamics between clients, and/or clients with serious mental health, addictions, cognitive functioning, or trauma issues.

Through this project, we are building the capacity of our volunteer caseworkers by pairing them with a trainer to work together on a complex case and providing them with workshops on common challenges in complex cases. Having properly trained and experienced caseworkers allows us to provide the consistent quality of service that we are known for.
