Aspire Special Needs Resource Centre
2020: $17,470The Re-Imagine Our Centre Project
The generous contribution Aspire Special Needs Resource Centre received from the Allarydce Bower Foundation made it possible for us to complete our Re-Imagine Our Centre Project. The project was designed to allow us to utilize our building in the best possible way so we could continue offering programs and services to children with special needs and their families during the pandemic and beyond. We needed to pivot and adapt our day-to-day so we could create a safe environment for all who entered our building.
We constructed a wall around an existing waiting area to create a new meeting space, freeing up an existing space that we turned into a new classroom. We removed the fabric flooring in our previous gym space and created an inviting new classroom on our lower level. These two new classrooms were essential for our success in offering our children and staff a safe and creative space to learn and grow. Most of our programming areas had fabric flooring or furniture that needed to be replaced with surfaces that could be easily disinfected. The foundation’s generosity allowed us to lay new flooring and purchase furniture that we could wipe, reducing the use of disinfectant sprays.
Thank you to the Allardyce Bower Foundation for trusting in our vision and mission and helping us to make our project a reality. We could not have done it without your support.
